Welcome — and thank you for scanning, clicking, or simply wandering over. The Mini Parks Project is a brand-new, neighbor-led effort here in Petaluma, and this is the very beginning of the story.
It started with a bench
A simple bench in a front yard turned out to be a small kind of magic. Neighbors stopped. They sat. They talked. People who had only ever waved hello began to know one another’s names. That little bench made one thing clear: our streets are full of small, overlooked corners that could do exactly the same thing — on purpose.
What comes next
As a pilot neighborhood, we have a rare chance to shape what these little green spaces can be — butterfly gardens, seed swap boxes, little libraries, quiet shady nooks, and whatever else our neighbors dream up together. We will share progress, planting days, and small wins right here as they happen.
Have an idea for a corner near you? We would love to hear it. Share your ideas on our homepage, or send us a note through the contact form.
